(Tribune News Service) — A 29-year-old Army veteran was found dead in a residential driveway after a hit-and-run, Georgia police said.

Desmond Font sustained injuries consistent with those being hit by a vehicle, police said.

Now Font’s family is pleading with the public to find the person responsible for his death.

“We’re absolutely devastated and we don’t have any closure,” Font’s stepfather Donald Harris told WSB-TV. “We don’t have any peace with this because we don’t know who did this.”

Police responded to a call on Oct. 24 of a body lying in a driveway on Cruse Road in Lawrenceville, according to the Gwinnett Police Department.

Anyone with information about the hit-and-run can call the Gwinnett Police Department Accident Investigation Unit at 678-442-5653.

Those who want to remain anonymous can contact Atlanta Crime Stoppers at 404-577-TIPS (8477) or go to www.stopcrimeATL.com.

A cash reward will be given for information leading to an arrest, police said.

Lawrenceville is about 32 miles northeast of Atlanta.
