WASH., D.C. — The nation’s capital’s annual Independence Day Parade drew large crowds despite the region experiencing one of the earliest heat waves in its history.

America’s National Independence Day Parade, which is sponsored by the National Parks Service, takes place annually on July 4th in Washington, D.C. The parade steps off at 11:45 a.m. from Constitution Avenue before a street audience of hundreds of thousands of spectators.
