HAMPTON, Va. (Tribune News Service) — President Joe Biden and first lady Jill Biden will go to Hampton on Friday to visit Joint Base Langley-Eustis, the White House said Tuesday.

Their visit will coincide with the start of Memorial Day Weekend. The White House didn’t release any more information about when and where they will travel.

It will be their second visit to Hampton Roads this month. The two visited Yorktown and Portsmouth on May 3 to tout a $1.8-trillion proposal that includes free universal pre-K and community college.

The White House did not specify which of the two posts that are part of the joint base that Biden will visit. However, Langley Air Force Base has been a common spot for presidential visits to the Peninsula. Former President Barack Obama made several stops at Langley as president. Former first lady Melania Trump and Vice President Mike Pence also visited the base.
