A pair of unbeatens will vie for the European Division II football title this Saturday at Baumholder after Wiesbaden and Ansbach polished off their semifinal foes Saturday.

D-II North champ Wiesbaden improved its season mark to 7-0 with a 49-28 conquest of visiting Naples, and defending D-II champ Ansbach upped its winning streak to 23 with a 50-14 home demolition of Bitburg.

Wiesbaden 49, Naples 28: At Wiesbaden, Jeremiah Simmas ran 24 times for 203 yards and a TD, and Marcus Williams carried 13 times for 108 yards and three TDs.

"Those two power backs are unstoppable," Naples coach Dan Dittmeier said by phone. "They’re ready for college right now."

Tyrece Davis and Rodney Anderson also rushed for TDs for Wiesbaden, which also scored on a TD pass from Ryan Ragan to Derek Rivera. Wiesbaden kicker Matt Wickham, a freshman, was 7-for-7 on PAT tries, Wiesbaden coach Steve Jewell reported.

Naples (3-4) trailed just 22-15 at halftime while playing what Dittmeier called its best game of the year. 44 yards. B.J. Thompson hauled in four for 125 yards and one TD.

Cameron Cooper rushed 25 times for 115 yards, Dittmeier added, and scored twice.

"We have 16 kids coming back next year," Dittmeier said. "Look out for Naples in 2009."

Ansbach 50, Bitburg 14: At Ansbach, Jordon Shack gashed the Barons’ defense for 220 yards and TD runs of 19, 41, 5 and 1 yards.

Quarterback Dominic Barrale, 8 of 14 for 183 yards, connected with Carter Gunn on scoring plays of 22 and 13 yards as the Cougars took a 36-14 halftime lead. Barrale and Shack each tallied on 1-yard runs after intermission to close the scoring.

"We finally got to play a full game," Ansbach coach Marcus George said by phone Saturday. Ansbach has won its games this season by an average margin of more than 50 points.

Darius Wynn rushed for 106 yards and both TDs for Bitburg (5-2).

Barrale led Ansbach’s defense with 17 tackles, George said. Kevin Stadler and Gunn each added 15 and Jeff Price 14.
