(Tribune News Service) — LSU revealed Wednesday it had pained the end zones at Tiger Stadium ahead of Saturday’s game with Army in a way to honor its opponent.
LSU painted the end zones in a camouflage pattern with the LSU logo in the middle in black.
“The respect and the honor that we have in playing this game, we’re excited about this weekend,” LSU coach Brian Kelly said.
LSU is coming off a 48-18 win over Auburn. Jayden Daniels accounted for 418 yards and passed for three touchdowns, and No. 22 LSU raced to an early double-digit lead that it never relinquished.
On Saturday, LSU and Army face off at 7:30 p.m. ET.
“The pageantry of it, the cadets being at the game, singing the alma mater with Army or Navy or Air Force, whoever the academy is,” Kelly said, “all those things are, I think, memories that our players will have for the rest of their lives.”
