Sailor assigned to USS Vella Gulf dies

VICENZA, Italy — A sailor assigned to the Ticonderoga-class guided-missile cruiser USS Vella Gulf died Tuesday, the Navy's 6th Fleet said.
The cause of death was under investigation, the 6th Fleet said in a statement on Wednesday.
The sailor's name was not released pending notification of next of kin, per standard Pentagon procedures.
Vella Gulf is currently operating in the Mediterranean Sea.
