A disabled veteran’s holiday season just got a whole lot brighter thanks to an Atlanta rapper and his line of ugly Christmas sweaters.
Deirdre Plater, of Palmetto, Ga., received a surprise visit on Saturday from 2 Chainz — birth name Tauheed Epps — who offered to pay the struggling single mother’s rent for a year, according to multiple media reports. The rapper — known for his hits “Birthday Song” with Kanye West and “No Lie” with Drake — also brought new furniture for Plater’s apartment.
Money raised selling “Dabbing Santa ugly Christmas sweaters” through the rapper’s TRU Foundation paid for the gifts, CNN reported. 2 Chainz said he’ll continue to use proceeds from the sweaters to help families in need, BET reported.
“It’s hard to keep gas in the car, food in the house and do everything by myself being a single parent,” Plater told Atlanta news station WGCL. “I love to see stuff like this happen for other people, but I never thought it would happen to me.”
