Like an eager pack of Santa’s little helpers, sixth-graders from Lakenheath Middle School on Friday distributed boxes of canned goods and other household items to some of the elderly residents of Feltwell, a village north of Lakenheath and Mildenhall.
They were part of this year’s Polar Express, a tradition started about 15 years ago by science teacher Ted Berkey. "Instead of doing a gift exchange, this is something that they’ll remember," said Berkey, who’s been teaching at the school for 38 years.
