One of the more esoteric attractions in this part of South Korea is designed to appeal to aficionados of the shooting arts, namely archery.
The Shooting Zone: Archery Theme Park is the first attraction of its kind in South Korea and features a 200-meter indoor archery range, an on-screen archery simulator, and a café with coffee, tea and snacks.
The facility accommodates three archery disciplines: recurve, compound and hunting bows. You can rent or buy all three types here.
There are 20 lanes for archery practice. Renting a bow with 24 arrows costs 15,000 won, or about $11. You can get 36 arrows for 20,000 won.
BYOBO — bring your own bow and arrows — and it costs 25,000 won for an hour of shooting or 35,000 won for two hours. An all-day pass costs 80,000 won.
The building is easy to identify from the outside by its vibrant colors and rabbit and bear characters dressed in archery gear. The spacious interior is adorned with similar cartoon characters.
At the shooting screens – a beefed-up arcade version of archery – the Shooting Zone has two archery lanes and one rifle lane. Each lane offers animal and moving targets and Olympic-style competitions. Up to five people can participate at a time.
Instruction is available for potential archers ages 10 and older in skill levels from beginner to intermediate and advanced. Classes meet two to four times per week and the Shooting Zone provides all the necessary equipment.
Whether you’re up for a few hours of weekend fun or learning a new skill, the Shooting Zone is the perfect venue.
