A man on a bicycle who was trying to make a food delivery to a military base ended up on the A6 autobahn Tuesday evening after his navigation app led him astray, authorities said.

Traffic police spotted him around 6:40 p.m. on a stretch of the highway leading toward Saarbrücken, according to a statement from Kaiserslautern police that said the man was unfamiliar with the area.

Officers requested a small van to take him and his bike off the autobahn. The man was then driven to the base entrance so he could deliver his food, the statement said.
