Red Devils hope to defend 3rd place in away game at Paderborn

A tough away match awaits 1.FC Kaiserslautern on Saturday when they play Paderborn. The Red Devils are in third place in the second division standings with 43 points, only one ahead of SC, who are in fifth.

Paderborn has won three times and tied twice in the last five games, while Kaiserslautern is 3-1-2 in the same span. FCK beat Paderborn 3-0 in the first meeting of the two sides this season.

Kaiserslautern coach Markus Anfang should be able to welcome Daisuke Yokota back following his foot injury, but loses Marlon Ritter, who is sitting out a one-game suspension following his fifth yellow card of the season.

About 2,500 Red Devil fans are expected to support their team in Paderborn. Kickoff is at 1 p.m.

Both Bundesliga divisions pause next weekend for national team play. Kaiserslautern is back in action on March 29, when it hosts Fortuna Düsseldorf in the Saturday evening game at Fritz Walter Stadium.
