The largest Fasching parade in the Westpfalz region is set to kick off Tuesday afternoon at 2 p.m. in Ramstein village.

The Westrich parade stretches over 1.5 miles and boasts more than 90 parade numbers, including festive floats and performance groups.

Event organizers are expecting up to 15,000 spectators and encourage visitors to travel to the town center by bus or train due to limited parking availability.

Several roads in the center of Ramstein will be blocked from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m., including Bahnhofstrasse, Schulstrasse, Jahnstrasse, Lillenstrasse, Miesenbacher Strasse, portions of Landstuhler Strasse and Spesbacher Strasse.

Event organizers will begin setting up barriers and roadblocks Tuesday morning and have advised residents of the town center not to park along sidewalks for the duration of the day.
