The Ramstein Air Base visitor control center will permanently relocate to the Rhine Ordnance Barracks Medical Center gate, colloquially known as the Mario Kart gate, on March 10, the 86th Airlift Wing said in a statement Tuesday.

The new facility will have more parking, a larger indoor waiting area and an additional customer service counter, Master Sgt. Cheri Boswell of the 86th Security Forces Squadron said in the statement.

The move also aims to improve security and reduce congestion at Ramstein’s West Gate, Boswell said. The new visitor center will be open daily from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m.
