Temperatures are on the rise in the KMC as we head into the final weekend of February. Whether it’s warm enough to head outside —  or if you prefer to stay indoors — we have suggestions for how to fill your downtime.

Indoor bouldering: Adrenaline junkies can join Ramstein Outdoor Recreation for a day of indoor bouldering in Mannheim. The trip departs from Ramstein Air Base on Saturday at 9 a.m. and includes transportation, rental shoes and chalk for $36.

Indoor flea market: Discover great deals and unique goods at the Ramstein Community Center’s Indoor Flea Market on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Mannheim walking tour: Take in a free tour of Mannheim’s vibrant Jungbusch neighborhood with a special focus on innovation and culture on Saturday at 11 a.m. Your English-speaking guide will teach you about the subcultures, music and local businesses that shaped this “hipster district” and the circumstances that led to its distinction as the first city in Germany to elect a Night Mayor.

Wine and shopping night: Sample local wines, shop after dark and enjoy light and fire shows during Bad Dürkheim’s wine and shopping night on Saturday from 6-10 p.m. The city center will be illuminated by a dazzling array of multi-colored lights and filled with the sound of live music, including Japanese and African drum performances. Most stores in the city center will stay open until 10 p.m. for late-night shopping, and local wineries will offer tastings of their products throughout the night.
