Love is in the air this Valentine’s Day weekend. Whether you’re looking for a romantic meal, a fun outing with friends or a solo adventure, there is plenty happening in the KMC this weekend.

Valentine’s bazaar: Shop for gifts from local vendors, including pottery, wine and jewelry. The bazaar will be held at the Special Events Center (building 237) on Rhine Ordnance Barracks from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday.

Ski trip: Escape to the Swiss Alps for the weekend with Ramstein Outdoor Recreation. This trip departs Ramstein Air Base at 7 a.m. Friday and returns at 10 p.m. Sunday. Transportation, three-day lift passes, two nights at a “ski in, ski out” hotel, daily breakfast and dinner, and ski or snowboard rentals are included for $650. The jaw dropping views of Grindelwald’s most famous mountain, the Eiger, are free of charge.

Dog Photoshoot: Make an appointment to have a professional “pawtrait” of your fur baby taken at Zoo & Co Kaiserslautern Saturday afternoon. For €25 per dog, you’ll receive a 15 minute photoshoot and a digital download of the session’s best shot.

English Guided Tour in Kaiserslautern: Learn more about the history and culture of Kaiserslautern during this guided tour beginning at 11:15 a.m. Saturday. The tour begins at the former Casimir Castle’s still-intact Count Palatinate Hall and continues through approximately 70 meters of subterranean tunnels. Reserve your spot by emailing touristinformation@kaiserslautern.de or calling +49 631 365 2317. Tickets are €7.

Sparkling Wine and Oysters: Enjoy a luxurious, multi-course offering of sparkling wine and oysters at Weingut Wilhelmshof in Siebeldingen at 11 a.m. Saturday. Experts will teach you to appreciate the subtle distinctions between several varieties of oyster and allow you to discover which sparkling wine pairs best with each. This tasting experience includes seven to eight oysters and samples of six sparkling wines for €73.
