Police investigating Kaiserslautern house fire

An investigation has been launched into what caused a fire that destroyed a house near Kaiserslautern’s Japanese Garden on Sunday evening. Firefighters and police arrived at the single-family home on Rudolf-Diesel-Strasse after getting calls that thick smoke was coming from it. The firefighters searched the property but were unable to find anyone inside the house, according to a statement by police on Monday. The fire and the water used to extinguish the flames caused damage in the low six-figure range, and the house is now uninhabitable, police said. Anyone with information is asked to contact the West Palatinate Police Headquarters at 0631 369 1080.
