Today would be a good day to stock up on groceries in the KMC, as businesses will have limited hours or be closed over the next several days.

Tuesday, Christmas Eve, isn’t an official public holiday in Germany. Still, supermarkets like Rewe, Edeka, Lidl and Netto will close at 1:30 p.m. or shortly afterward.

They will remain shut on Christmas Day and the day after Christmas, which are both public holidays in Germany.

Normal working hours are expected to resume on Friday, Dec. 27. Base commissaries in the KMC will stay open until 4 p.m. on Christmas Eve. They will be closed on Christmas Day and resume normal operating hours on Dec. 26. The KMCC Exchange will close at 6 p.m. on Christmas Eve and reopen on Thursday morning.
