Action gets underway at 8:30 p.m., with the two hottest Bundesliga 2 teams on the Böllenfalltor pitch at Merk Stadium.
The Red Devils have a seven-game undefeated streak going, with five wins and two ties. The Lillies, named after the flower on the club emblem, have gone undefeated a game longer, with four wins and four ties.
Although both clubs have a long soccer tradition, they have only met 10 times in either the first or second divisions. Kaiserslautern has three wins to two losses against Darmstadt, with five ties.
FCK goes into the game in second place with 26 points, one point behind league-leader Paderborn. Darmstadt is in 10th going into the 16th week of play.
Kaiserslautern midfielder Kenny Prince Redondo will be out for the last two games of the calendar year with a toe injury.
About 2,000 fans will be backing the Red Devils on Saturday night, in the tight Darmstadt stadium, which only holds 17,800 spectators.
