State police orchestra to play free holiday concert

The Rheinland-Pfalz State Police Orchestra will play at a free holiday concert on Thursday at 6 p.m. in the Maria Schutz church in Kaiserslautern. Founded in 1953 as the “Police Music Corps,” the symphonic wind orchestra performs throughout Germany and other European countries. The repertoire of the 37 professional musicians includes classical symphonic, contemporary and traditional marching music.
