Four people required hospital treatment for injuries in a vehicle collision Monday afternoon on the B270.

A 25-year-old man driving from Kaiserslautern to Otterbach realized too late that the traffic ahead was at a standstill and vehicles were reducing their speed, the Westpfalz Police Department said in a statement.

The man crashed his VW Caddy into the rear of a Dacia Sandero, which in turn ran into a Hyundai i10 in front of it. The drivers of all three cars involved and a passenger in the Dacia were injured and transported to a nearby hospital, police said.
