Weekend brings comedy, holiday shopping and dinosaurs to the KMC

With live entertainment, holiday shopping and dinosaurs, there’s a bit of something for everyone on and off base in the KMC. Here are a few things going on this weekend:

Brooklyn and Beyond Comedy Show (Nov. 15): The Brooklyn and Beyond comedy show hosted by local comedian Erin Crouch will bring an international lineup of comedians to the Kazabra Club at Vogelweh on Friday.  Actor, writer and producer Dwayne Perkins headlines the event with supporting acts Zana Fejzic and Sandy Jones. The show starts at 8 p.m. Tickets are $12 at the door. 

World of Dinosaurs Exhibit (Nov. 16-17): This educational prehistoric exhibition is coming to Kaiserslautern for the first time. Visitors view moving models of dinosaurs and other prehistoric creatures at the Burgherrenhalle in Kaiserslautern-Hohenecken. Other attractions include rides, bouncy castles, and a live dinosaur show with costumed performers. The exhibit is open from 1-6 p.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m.-6 p.m. on Sunday. Tickets are cash only onsite at 12 euro for adults and 10 euro for children 3 and older.

Ramstein Arts and Crafts Market (Nov. 16-17): More than 70 artisans and crafters will sell their Christmas inspired works and other projects at the Congress Center in Ramstein-Miesenbach. Multiple artists will also offer live presentations and workshops. Proceeds from a raffle drawing will be donated to the local hospice care association. Admission is free. The market is open Saturday from 1-6 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m.- 6 p.m.

Holiday Flea Market (Nov. 16): The Ramstein Community Center is hosting a holiday flea market on base Saturday from 10 a.m.- 2 p.m. Patrons can swap, buy and sell toys, collectibles, decorations and more at this holiday-themed yard sale. Click here for more information.

Turkey Trot 5K (Nov. 16): Ramstein Southside Fitness Center presents the annual 3.1-mile run for the entire family. The free community event is stroller and pet friendly. The USO, Red Cross and Red Bull will be onsite, and participants will have a chance to win a free turkey. The event starts at 11 a.m. on Saturday.
