‘Tis the season! We’re barely past spooky season, but Christmas festivities are already starting up around the KMC. Here’s what’s going on.

Holiday Bazaar (Nov. 1-3): Get a jump start on your holiday shopping at the Family & MWR Special Events Center on Rhine Ordnance Barracks. Shoppers can browse European goods and gifts like pottery, wine, cheese, jewelry and more. Leave your cash at home as all payments are in U.S. dollars with debit or credit card only. Shopping times are 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday.

Selfies with Santa (Nov. 2): The big man in red is dropping by Ramstein for an early visit this year. The USO is hosting a family photo op with Santa at the AMC Passenger Terminal on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Santa’s workshop will be full of cheer and provide a jolly backdrop for your Christmas card photos. No registration required. Visitors can also stop by the Stars and Stripes table for help with writing a letter to Santa. He’s a really busy guy this time of the year, but we’ll make sure he reads all the letters.

DINOvember (Nov. 2): What’s your third favorite dinosaur? We’re fans of the Stegosaurus. Get ready for a roaring good time at the Landstuhl Youth Center on Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon. Paleontologists of all ages can explore a variety of crafts, games and other activities. Click here or call 06371-86-7322 for more information.

Rodenbach Torch Run (Nov. 2): Local sports club TV Rodenbach is hosting its annual nighttime running event. Three-hundred torches light the 7 km (4.3 mile) route starting and ending at the Rodenbach sports hall. There are two other shorter torch-lit routes for students and young children. Runs begin at 5:30 p.m. On-site reservations are available until 5 p.m. The cost is 12 euro for adults and 5 euro for children to age 16.

Looking ahead:

STRONGCON II (Nov. 9): The Armstrong’s Club is hosting its second comic convention and flea market with a variety of activities for the whole family. Vendors will sell comic books, trading cards, games and more. Other events include trading card and board gaming, raffle drawings and a costume contest. Click here for more information.
