1. FC Kaiserslautern beat Paderborn 3-0 Saturday night, ending a five-game winless streak.

More than 42,000 spectators saw the Red Devils win their third game of the season and their first season win at Fritz Walter Stadium.

Ragnar Ache took advantage of a mistake by Paderborn keeper Pelle Boevink in the 30th minute knocking the ball into the empty goal.

The rest of the first half and most of the second saw both defenses playing well, with Paderborn having a bit of an advantage over the hosts. But neither team was able to score.

A substitution by FCK coach Markus Anfang ended up making the difference, when he brought Marlon Ritter for Filip Kaloc in the 58th minute.

The Red Devils picked up the pace, but it wasn’t until the 87th minute that they were rewarded for their efforts.

Ritter centered the ball following a corner, Daniel Hanslik heeled it on to Luca Sirch, who right-footed it into the net for the 2-1 lead.

Ritter capped a strong 30-minute effort, firing a shot into the net rom about 27 yards out for the 3-0 win.

The victory moved Kaiserslautern up to 10th place with 12 points in the second division table, Paderborn fell to fourth, following its first loss of the season.

Next up for the Red Devils is another Saturday night game next weekend in Duesseldorf against league-leader Fortuna.

They return to Fritz Walter Stadium on Nov. 3 for a 1:30 p.m. match against Magdeburg.
