Maintenance work on Mannheimer Strasse and Opelkreisel traffic circle will begin Monday, affecting traffic through Oct. 25, according to the city’s maintenance division.

On Mannheimer Strasse, near Kleber Kaserne, asphalt resurfacing along the “Friedhof” bus stops will close the right lane in both directions. SWK will establish temporary bus stops during the work, city officials said.

Simultaneously, at Opelkreisel near Rhine Ordnance Barracks, the road leading to the Esso gas station will be fully replaced due to significant wear and tear, according to the city. In addition, the entrance from the B270, coming from Siegelbach, will be widened to accommodate large trucks, which frequently drive over the curb with their trailer axles. The right lane will be closed during these repairs, potentially slowing traffic in the area.
