A 57-year-old man’s creative way to deal with a parking shortage didn’t go down well with Kaiserslautern police. The driver painted his own parking spot, white lines and all, police said. The not-quite-legal parking was created along Donnersbergstrasse, uphill from the city cemetery and a few minutes away from the U.S. Army’s Kleber Kaserne. The man now faces charges for usurpation of authority and damaging property, according to a police statement.
