The Red Devils head down the autobahn to Elversberg for a 1 p.m. second division match Saturday.

It is the closest away game for the team, with only about 35 miles between Fritz Walter Stadium and Ursapharm Arena in the Saarland town. The game is sold out.

This is only the second season for Elversberg in the second division. Last season, the two teams split their matches, with each side winning at home.

Both teams have nine points in the standings, both with identical 2-2-3 records. Elversberg is ninth in the standings, and FCK is in the 11th slot.

Elversberg is coming off a 4-1 away win against Berlin, while the Red Devils travel west following a disappointing tie against last-place Regensburg.

Striker Aaron Opoku is out with adductor injury. Otherwise, coach Markus Anfang has a wide choice for his starting lineup.

Europe’s soccer leagues take a break next weekend due to national team action. The Red Devils return home to Fritz Walter Stadium for an Oct. 19 contest against Paderborn.
