Deutsche Bahn will increase the price of its Deutschland Ticket to 58 euros per month starting in January, the German railway announced Monday. The current price is 49 euros a month.

The Deutschland Ticket allows unlimited trips on local and regional transportation, including RB and S trains as well as trams and buses.

In December, Deutsche Bahn and French railway SNCF will launch a new high-speed direct train route between Paris and Berlin.

The daytime service will take about eight hours from Berlin Hauptbahnhof or Paris Gare de L’Est, with stops in Strasbourg, Karlsruhe and Frankfurt Süd. There will initially be only one trip a day in each direction.

Ticketing reservations can be made beginning Oct. 16. Fares start at 59 euros one way for a seat in second class and 69 euros one way for first class.
