Between 7 a.m. and 8 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 22, the A6 at the Kaiserslautern-West junction will shut down.

Work on the high voltage network near the A6 will be carried out, according to a statement from Pfalzwerke Netz AG.

The work is part of a larger project that has been underway between Otterbach and Hohenecken. About 5 miles worth of overhead line in the 100 kV grid are being renovated.

“The project is necessary as more energy is to be transported over the same route in future”, the statement said.

In early August, the highway was temporarily closed at the Kaiserslautern-West junction in the morning in order to put up scaffolding.
