1. FC Kaiserslautern lost their second game in a row, losing in Hannover Saturday afternoon 3-1.

After falling to Berlin at home 4-3 two weeks ago, it was the Red Devils’ first loss on the road following wins against newcomers Ulm and Münster.

The 96ers got off to a quick start in the sixth minute on a goal by Lee Hyun-Ju. Neither team could put much together the rest of the half, leaving Hannover with lead going into the intermission.

In the second half, Kaiserslautern evened the score on a header by striker Ragnar Ache in the 56th minute after Hannover keeper Ron-Robert Zieler blocked Jan Elvedi’s header off to the crossbar. Ache reacted fastest and knocked the ball in for the equalizer.

Max Christiansen put the 96ers back on top with a header in the 73rd minute before Thaddaeus Momuluh put the game away for the hosts in the fifth minute of stoppage time.

The loss leaves Kaiserslautern in 10th place in the second division table, while Hannover climbed to second after five games.

Next up for the Red Devils is a home game next Saturday night at 8:30 p.m. in a nearly sold-out Fritz Walter Stadium against Hamburger SV.
