Here’s what’s happening this weekend in the KMC.

- The Moelschbach village fair kicks off Friday with a ceremonial beer tapping and soccer match, followed by live music from the band Magic. The event will feature traditional foods, including a unique meat dumpling sandwich, and will continue with various activities such as a parade on Sunday and performances by several bands throughout the weekend.

- A bargain market will be held in the Edith-Steinhaus in downtown Kaiserslautern on Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. There will be clothing, household goods and jewelry for sale. Coffee and homemade cakes will be offered. Proceeds from the market, sponsored by the Inner Wheel Club Kaiserslautern, will benefit various social institutions in the region. More info here.

- Dampfnudel fans should check out the steamed dumpling festival in Steinwenden from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday. Patrons of the Ramstein-Miesenbach museum prepared hundreds of steamed yeast dumplings, a Palatinate specialty served with wine or vanilla sauce, for visitors. Cakes and other treats will also be available. Solo entertainer “Matthias” will perform.

- The Kusel fair kicks off at 8.30 p.m. on Friday with carnival rides, music and beer and ends Tuesday with fireworks at 9:30 p.m. On Saturday at 3 p.m., a parade marches through Kusel’s city center. Stores will be open for shopping on Sunday.
