Kaiserslautern police are investigating to find out who threw pieces of asphalt onto the A63 near Mehlingen, SWR Kaiserslautern reported Friday.

Several people told police they drove over bits of asphalt on the A63 near Mehlingen in the direction of Mainz around midnight Thursday. Police believe that the pieces were tossed from a bridge between Baalborn and Mehlingen, according to SWR.

Four cars were damaged, with total damages estimated at 50,000 euros. In 2022, a motorcyclist was seriously injured from pieces of wood that were thrown onto the road from the same bridge.
