Cosplay enthusiasts will gather at the Kaiserslautern Japanese Garden next week for a day of costumes, anime, and art in the tranquil downtown setting.
The official Cosplay Day will take place on Saturday, Aug. 17, starting with an opening speech at the lawn rondel at noon.
Participants can showcase their manga-style costumes during the Cosplay Catwalk in front of an audience and a selected jury. Winners will receive prizes, such as a voucher for a professional photoshoot. Registration for the catwalk is available on the day of the event.
The event will feature an Artist Alley where artists will display and sell their works. Additionally, a drawing competition themed “The Year of the Dragon” invites participants to submit their artworks at the Info Point on the event day.
Plush maker Van, who specializes in life-sized plushies from various series, movies, and games, will be returning to Cosplay Day this year at the Bamboo Market, organizers said.
Musical entertainment will follow the closing speech around 7:30 p.m., with Vanessa Mezker performing her original songs.
