Police are cracking down on speeding in the Kaiserslautern area and across Europe this week, the Westpfalz police department announced Monday. ROADPOL, the European network of traffic police forces, plans to carry out its second large-scale speed enforcement operation of the year from today through Sunday. Police in participating states and countries will target speeding with traffic stops, automatic monitoring and handheld radar devices. During last year’s operation across Europe, more than 650,000 speeding violations were reported, Westpfalz police said.
