A 25-year-old American man was detained by authorities after causing a drunken disturbance early Friday morning in Kaiserslautern’s Eselsfuerth neigborhood, according to a Westpfalz Police statement.

Officers responded to reports of a man creating a commotion at the rear of a guesthouse. Due to the secured nature of the adjoining property, the officers could only hear the man until someone arrived with a key to grant them access.

Once on the premises, police found the man lying on the ground with several minor injuries. The source of his injuries remains unclear as investigations continue, police said.

Following the assessment of the situation and treatment by medical personnel, local police handed the man over to the military police. Military officials did not immediately confirm his military affiliation.

The man now faces multiple charges, including trespassing, assault, defamation and property damage.
