Following a string of test match victories, 1. FC Kaiserslautern finishes their preparations for the 2024/25 second division campaign with a friendly against 1860 Munich on Saturday.

The Red Devils won a so-called blitz tournament in Offenbach last weekend, defeating fellow second league team Fortuna Duesseldorf 1-0 and host Kickers 3-1 in two 60-minute games.

On Wednesday, in a 120-minute test against Holstein Kiel, FCK beat the freshly promoted Bundesliga team 1-0. The win left the Red Devils undefeated in the preseason.

On Saturday, the team will celebrate the official season opening at Fritz Walter Stadium with a fan festival and the game against 1860. The team from Munich, like FCK, has a long, storied history, but has been mired in the third division for a number of seasons.

The fun on the Betzenberg starts at 10 a.m. at Parkplatz Ost, adjacent to the stadium. There will be games and a raffle for FCK jerseys and fan merchandise.

The game begins at 1:30 p.m. The festival is free, tickets for the game can be purchased online at the FCK website.

Following the game, players and coaches will be signing autographs in the halls below the grandstands. The club has details of who is signing where on their website.

The Red Devils start the season with an away game on Aug. 2 at 1 p.m. against newcomer SSV Ulm. The first home game at Fritz Walter Stadium is at 6:60 p.m. on Aug. 9 against Fürth.
