Emergency response exercise to add disruptions at Ramstein this week

Expect gate delays and noise disruptions starting today as Ramstein Air Base conducts its quarterly Operation Varsity exercise through Friday.

Base personnel will practice emergency response scenarios, including logistics and cargo movements and aircraft accidents.

Base services may experience delays and traffic disruptions are expected at Ramstein Air Base, Vogelweh/Pulaski, the Einsiedlerhof gates and throughout the Kaiserslautern Military Community, according to the 86th Airlift Wing.

Those in the area may also hear loudspeaker voice announcements, sirens or other loud noises.
