The Alles Muss Raus, or “Everything must go,” art festival returns to Kaiserslautern from July 19 to 21, city officials said.

The charity- and government-sponsored street theater and music festival will feature nearly 200 artists with and without disabilities from eight countries performing throughout the city’s downtown area over three days.

The festival kicks off Friday evening at the Fruchthalle with a lively program of music, dance, acrobatics and spontaneous acts, organizers said.

On Friday and Saturday nights, colorful giant fish, towering moray eels, and glowing jellyfish made by the French artist group Plasticiens Volants transform the city into an enchanting underwater world, as the helium-filled figures parade from the Pfalztheater lawn to Stiftsplatz.

Daytime performances on Saturday and Sunday will turn downtown into a grand stage. Belgian ensembles Stap and FroeFroe will present a puppet-filled adaptation of Dürrenmatt’s “The Visit,” while Wales’ Hijinx Theatre and tanzbar_bremen bring 30 robots to life on the streets, among other program features.

The festival’s musical offerings include Make A Move’s brass, funk and rap on Friday night at Schillerplatz and 21 downbeat’s tribute to 1920s Berlin on Saturday.

French favorites Les Grooms will transform the city into an open-air opera house, and Australia’s The Beez will close the festival with their rendition of “Bohemian Rhapsody.”
