Speeding crackdown nets over 1,300 violations on local highways

German police issued 1,343 citations for speeding on highway A6 and A8 during nighttime checks from June 30 to July 4, according to a friday statement.

Officers also targeted drivers on routes B10 and B270, near Kaiserslautern, police said.

The most egregious offender was clocked at 196 kph in a 100 kph zone on route B270. The driver now faces a 700 euro fine, two points on their license, and a multi-month driving ban.
