Beards may be mostly prohibited in the military, but the Beard Brigade comedy show is set to bring laughter to the Kaiserslautern Military Community on June 28 from 8 to 10 p.m. at the Kazabra Club on Vogelweh.

Derek Sheen, known for his ability to extract humor from the darker aspects of the human experience, headlines the show. Sheen has toured with notable comedians Brian Posehn, Patton Oswalt and Janeane Garofalo.

He’s joined by Seattle-based comedian and writer Lucy Tollefson, who won Seattle’s Comedy Clash competition in 2019, and has graced stages at multiple festivals, including the Salem Comedy and Spirits Festival and the Upper Left Festival.

Canadian comedian Greg Houston will bring his storytelling and observational humor to the stage. Houston has been performing for over six years and has won several awards, including the Funniest of the Fringe at the Kingston Storefront Fringe Festival. His clean comedy style appeals to a wide range of audiences.

Rounding out the lineup is Matt Fischer, a DODEA teacher from Brooklyn, NY. Fischer recently won the March 2024 New Stand Up Contest in Stuttgart, securing his place in this show. His background in education and comedy offers a unique and relatable perspective.

Tickets are $12 at the door. More info at MWR.
