Division I

Outlook — Rebuilding-reloading. A large squad of mainly distance runners, jumpers and throwers; lacking some in sprints. Jarzabek is a threat to break Far East meet records and Pacific region marks.
Kadena Panthers
Head coaches — Jason Spangler, Stephanie Luneby (prior assistant), first seasons.
Key performers — Neil Kentish, Sr., sprints, jumps; Alexzander Hye, Sr., sprints, jumps; Antonio Webster, So., sprints, relays; Carmelo Ward, Sr., sprints, relays; Navoni Perry, So., sprints, jumps; Isabella Price, So., sprints; William Rhoades, So., distance; Jeremiah Williams, Jr., distance, relays; Baden Francis, Sr., middle distance, relays; Anna Mendoza, Sr., middle distance, relays; Lauren Luneby, Jr., middle distance, relays; Aiden Ellis, Sr., throws; Isiah Cepin, Sr., throws, jumps.
Outlook — Contending. As is customary, the Panthers are deep in all events, one of the more balanced teams in Division I and could make a serious run at both boys and girls team banners.
Kubasaki Dragons
Head coach — Joshua McCall, second season.
Key performers — Carlos Cadet, Sr., hurdles, jumps; Brennan Hall, Sr., throws; Ryan Hater, Jr., sprints, middle distance, relays; Adrianna Parra, So., distance.
Outlook — Rebuilding. Couple of key athletes who should do well in the Petty and Far East meets, but depth is lacking.
Nile C. Kinnick Red Devils
Head coach — Luke Voth, 12th season; Tony San Nicolas, 10th season.
Defending Far East Division I boys and girls team champion.
Key performers — Mia Bartram, Sr., distance; Talan Farrington, Jr., distance; Kahlil Busscher, Sr., throws; Jasmine Williams, Sr., sprints; Leona Turner, Sr., throws; Ja’lilah Brice, Sr., hurdles.
Outlook — Contending. Red Devils have strong experienced veterans at the top of the lineup and have a handful of youngsters with promise.
Division II
Robert D. Edgren Eagles
Head coach — Tim Schwehr, sixth season.
Key performer — Reagan Keller, Fr., distance; CinCere Davis., Jr., distance; Nina Johnson, Jr., distance; Aaden Mulhall, So., distance; Stephen Bell, So. Distance; Andrew Schwehr, Sr., middle distance; Titus Tungett, Sr., throws; Dominique Waters, So., sprints, jumps; JeShawn Spaights-Pace, Jr., jumps
Outlook — Rebuilding-reloading. Good athletes, veterans and experience at the top of the lineup. Keller is one to watch in the distance events. Depth is an issue; many seniors graduated and the Eagles’ top girls sprinter transferred to Yokota.
Matthew C. Perry Samurai
Head coach — Michael Kelley, third season.
Key performers — None provided.
Outlook — Rebuilding. Samurai are sifting through their ranks to piece together a lineup. Their top two distance runners, Jane Williams and Tyler Gaines, graduated.
Zama Trojans
Defending Far East Division II boys team champion.
Head coach — Shawen Smith, fourth season.
Key performers — Paula Adams, Jr., sprints; Andrew Byrd, Sr., sprints, middle distance, relays; David King, Jr., sprints, relays; Carson Durst, Sr., throws; Robert Baulsir, Jr., throws; Emerson Moore, Jr., jumps.
Outlook — Contending. Strong returning contingent, 15 in all. Could repeat as boys D-II team champion and have a shot at the D-II girls.
E.J. King Cobras
Head coach — Terrie Oatman, first season.
Key performers — Jeremy Phillips, Sr., sprints, middle distance; Carbe Raphael, Sr., sprints, jumps (transferred from Oak Harbor, Wash.); Deron James, So., distance; Kaylah Scott, Sr., middle distance; Kiana Scott, Fr., middle distance; Chad del Pilar, Jr., sprints.
Outlook — Rebuilding-reloading. Raphael was a huge welcome addition, as were the Scotts. Strong top of the lineup; depth somewhat lacking.
Yokota Panthers
Head coach — Daniel Galvin, second season.
Defending Far East Division II girls team champion.
Key performers — Camille Dixon, So., sprints (transferred from Robert D. Edgren); Matthew Rowland, Jr., distance (Far East D-II cross-country champion); Baron Reed, So., sprints, middle distance; Madeline Frost, Fr., distance.
Outlook — Contending. Distance corps is again very strong and deep. Panthers struck it rich in the PCS sweepstakes with Dixon and Reed. Many more athletes in the throws and field-events ranks. Could be a well-rounded bunch.
Daegu Warriors
Head coach — Zachary Colflesh, first season.
Key performers — McKenzie Andrews, Jr., sprints (transferred from Fort Campbell, Ky.); Nicholas Faubion, Sr., jumps.
Outlook — Rebuilding. Plenty of middle-school athletes, but few from the high school.
Osan Cougars
Head coach — Bridget Heffele, third season, and Cornell Jones, second season.
Key performers — Jayden Hightower, Sr., relays, sprints; Malik Davis, Sr., sprints, relays; Nysean Shorter, Jr., sprints; Zeus Queen, So., sprints; Charlotte Ng., Fr., distance; Brandon Ferguson, Fr., distance; Emily Smith, Jr., distance.
Outlook — Reloading. Half the student body at Osan is out for spring sports, with 38 of them on this team, 13 returning and 10 girls, the most ever at Osan. Probably not in line for a school banner, but a good chance of inching their way up the D-II team standings ladder.
