Daegu Warriors

Softball

Head coach — Oliver Herazo, second season.

Key performers — Alyssa Cruz, Sr., P-C; Kadence Thomas, So., IF; Leanne Douke, Sr., IF; Kellis Eisenhauer, Sr., IF; Yairelix Lapaix, Sr., IF; Reesha Aldan, So., KF; Elizabeth Benjamin, So., KF

Outlook — Rebuilding-reloading. Still hampered by the constant turnover that is a way of life at Daegu; however, plenty of players return and newcomers who’ve played before could make for a more competitive team.

Boys soccer

2024 season record — 5-8-2.

Head coach — Robert Kenny, ninth season.

Key performers — Evan Son, Jr., MF; Kahlel Magsakay, Sr., D-MF; Jonel Ortiz, So., MF; Renz Lactaoen, So., F; Canaan McGee, Fr., MF.

Outlook — Rebuilding. The Warriors lost their two leading scorers from last season and are looking to a small core of returning veterans to try to finish in the top half of Korea’s Red Division and the Far East tournament.

Girls soccer

2024 season record — 5-9-3.

Head coach — Austin King, fourth season

Key performers — Leilani Rice, So., D; Denali Clites, Jr., MF (8 goals); Jaeonna McClelland, Fr., MF-F (played club ball in the States).

Outlook — Rebuilding-reloading. McClelland is to the 2025 team what Rice was last year, an inbound newcomer who is not new to the sport. Good core around which to build, though the learning curve may be steep at first.

Humphreys Blackhawks

Baseball

Head coach — Derek Miller, Alexis Walton and Brent Borelli, first season.

Key performers — Eric Ji, Sr., IF-P; Bradley Miller, Jr., C; Donovan Brown, Jr.; Beckett Babb, Jr.

Outlook — Rebuilding-reloading. The Blackhawks face a third straight season with a new coaching staff, though Miller and Borelli aren’t new to the game. Ji and Miller bring experience to the table.

Softball

Head coach — Ashley Gooch, third season.

Key performers — Charolette Langley, Sr., 3B; Gracie Farneman, Sr., OF; Lexi Montalvo, Sr., P-SS; Amaris Rosales, So., UT; Madison Marasco, So., P.

Outlook — Reloading-contending. Six seniors are back and 11 total players return, giving the Blackhawks a good core of veteran blood. Gooch says she’s hopeful Humphreys can return to the top of the Far East heap for the first time since 2019.

Boys soccer

2024 season record — 3-11-1.

Head coach — Lino Campos, first season.

Key performers — Nathan Bahng, Sr., MF; Llance Ramos, Jr., GK; Scott Herber, Sr., D; Aydin Henry, So., MF; Gavin Dunn., Jr., D.

Outlook — Rebuilding-reloading. Definitely some promise among the veterans, with Bahng playing his third season as a Blackhawk. Not as deep in goalkeeping as they’ve been the last couple of season, but should be OK.

Girls soccer

2024 season record — 8-8-3.

Head coach — Scott Bittner, third season.

Key performers — Amelia Gorski, Fr., F; Hannah Corrales, Jr., MF; Mieka Sablan, Sr., MF; Elysia Koch, Jr., D.

Outlook — Rebuilding-reloading. Gorski is young but is not new to soccer. Blackhawks have to replace 23 goals among two players who transferred after their junior seasons.

Osan Cougars

Softball

Head coach — Tyler Greve, first season.

Key performers — Emcee Amatorio, Jr., OF (transferred from Rota, Spain); Isabelle McKibban, Fr., P; Losaline Ulukivaiola, Fr., IF; Belldandy Lamb, Jr., UT; Skylar Lamb, Sr., OF; Madelynn King, Sr., OF.

Outlook — Rebuilding. Not a single player returns, but Greve has expressed optimism about his young team. Amatorio’s arrival gives the Cougars an additional spark. The two freshmen could contribute immediately, Greve said.

Boys soccer

2024 season record — 0-11-2.

Head coach — Michael Paul, third season.

Key performers — Reid Iverson, So., D-MF; Aiden Machmer, Jr., MF; Ethan DiSanto, Sr., MF; Cannon DiSanto, Sr., MF.

Outlook — Rebuilding, but are a year older, a year wiser, a year more experienced and could break into the win column for the first time since the 2022 season when they only played DODEA opponents.

Girls soccer

2024 season record — 8-10-2.

Head coach — Sung Plourde, 23rd season.

Key performers — Clarice Lee, Sr., MF; Camrynn Tuigamala, So., F; Grace Williams, So., MF; Sofia Clave, Jr., MF.

Outlook — Rebuilding-reloading. Lee and Clave are three-year Cougar veterans, with Lee the team’s leading playmaker from a season ago. Williams and Tuigamala each have a year under their belts at Osan. The Cougars will sorely miss departed Tatiana Lunn and her 24 goals. Osan still holds the DODEA-Pacific record with eight Far East Division II titles, but it’s been a lengthy drought; none in the last 12 seasons.
