Fallujah, Iraq, Jan. 17, 2004: Members of the U.S. Army’s Captured Enemy Ammunition Operations and contractors from EOD Technology Inc., based in Knoxville, Tenn. look over a pile of Iraqi artillery shells, bombs and missiles being set up for demolition.

The Army hired four civilian contractors to collect, store and begin destroying about 600,000 tons of Iraqi ammunitions. The contract worth $300 million reduces enemy stockpiles and alleviates soldiers from hazardous demolition duty.
