The men of the 12th Cavalry Regiment participated in a month-long Army training test. The training, which began Jan. 2, is held in the mountain areas of South Korea where the cavalrymen honed their skills in varied terrains such as jungles and expansive open agricultural paddies. Part of the combat exercise was devoted to learning to spot and defuse so-called boobytraps - often hidden anti-personnel mines.
