Men compete in a tug of war contest

Camp Page, South Korea, Apr. 18, 1959: Tug of war contest between the 226th Signal Company and the 1st Missile Battalion was won by the Missilemen. Hq. and Hq. Company was second and 19th Infantry third. The 1st Missile Battalion also won the organizational day trophy for winning most of the individual events.

The tug of war contest was one of the many events at the 4th Missile Command’s first anniversary at Camp Page. Points were awarded in seven events in the day-long celebration. Apart from the tug-of-war, there also was a cake and cobbler baking contest, several drill team competitions, as well as a variety of truck rodeo events.
