Manila Bay, Philippines, May 7, 2001: Capt. Aaron Keenan grimaces while getting blasted by rotor wash from a CH-53 helicopter, as a second helicopter approaches to land and offload U.S. Marines. Keenan, an F-18 pilot who was acting as a forward air controller during an amphibious assault at Ternate beach at the southern end of Manila Bay, is part of the 3rd Batallion, 7th Marines from Twentynine Palms, Calif. The unit is deployed to Camp Schwaab, Okinawa, and is participating in Balikatan 2001 in the Philippines.
