Saint-Avold, France, May 20, 1971: A visitor to the Lorraine American Cemetery near Saint-Avold walks between the graves of some of the 10,481 American war dead buried there. The cemetery, covering 113.5 acres contains the largest number of graves of American service members who died during WWII.
