Arromanches-les-Bains, France, May 1994: Fifty years after the allied invasion of Normandy in World War II, a visitor looks up at the remnants of one of the “Phoenix” concrete caissons used in the construction of an artificial harbor that allowed supplies to flow to the troops as they moved inland.
