Ramstein Air Base, Germany, June 20, 2015: An Air Force crew chief directs an M1A2 Abrams tank into a C-17 transport plane. The tank was one of two headed to Bulgaria for a live-fire exercise. The “Speed and Power” exercise at Bulgaria’s Novo Selo Training Area was meant to reassure NATO allies and demonstrate the U.S. military’s ability to rapidly deploy materiel around Europe.
