Afghanistan, Oct. 13, 2016: Men herd goats along the road through the Panjshir Valley. The valley, about 50 miles north of Kabul, had been one of the safest places in this country. But Taliban successes earlier in 2016 had a growing number of the valley’s inhabitants fearing the Taliban could bring violence to their quiet region.
