Iraq, April 2010: U.S. soldiers relax inside their MRAPs before leaving Forward Operating Base Summerall for good. The sprawling, roughly 18-square-kilometer base near Bayji, Iraq, opened in 2004 and during the height of the war housed a full U.S. brigade. The base was handed over to the Iraqi government on April 17, 2010.
